Fics like Devil's Advocate

Major Tanya von Degurechaff's life as a war hero is stripped away in a single, brilliant flash. Through Being X's acceptance of her final plea, she is granted the privilege of reincarnation. However, his 'gift' is not as it seems. Thrust into a Grimm world, the newly christened 'Cinder' must forge her own path in the never ending search for freedom. After her orphanage is visited by an Atlas elite, Tanya believes this is her chance to leave behind the horrors of the world. Unfortunately, everything is not as it seems, and she finds out soon enough that the machinations of Being X have only just begun. In time, she gains help from the most unlikely of allies... At least this one isn't obsessed with being worshipped.
