Fics like Legacy of the Nine-Petaled Lotus

In an alternate 1980s China where Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics shape societal hierarchies, 18 year old Omega Wei Wuxian is forcibly sent by his adoptive mother Madam Yu to a remote countryside village to settle his family's debts as engagement pact with 30 year old Alpha Nie Mingjue. Though appearing naive and compliant, Wei Wuxian hides both his extraordinary intelligence and a secret agenda: to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his biological grand-mother and uncover his hidden family legacy. During the long train journey to his new life, Wei Wuxian encounters 24 year old Lan Wangji, a highly respected Alpha government official with ice-cold demeanor but unexpectedly protective instincts. Their chance meeting sparks an instant biological connection that deepens when Lan Wangji discovers Wei Wuxian is being sent to marry his own brother-in-law. As Wei Wuxian navigates the oppressive expectations of traditional Omega life in a rural community, he and Lan Wangji must confront societal prejudices, family betrayals, and their own forbidden attraction. Wei Wuxian must navigate oppressive pack dynamics, his own unexpected heats, and the dark secrets of a legacy that was meant to be buried.
