Monday, September 14. “Her name is Penny Lamb,” Karnak explains. “Born April 7th. Aries, the lucky nature.” The memories flood back into Jane's head, into that spot where a mind ought to be, bouncing around with a resounding clang. At first it’s like she’s watching a movie, like she’s watching someone else’s life but it’s not her, like someone else’s memories have been generously transplanted. Then she sees a flash of Ezra, the morning of the Fair, letting himself into her room. And it’s like a fire lights in a soul she didn’t know she had - that’s her brother. How, oh how did she forget Ezra? That rollercoaster must have really taken her head off. But it’s okay, she remembers now, she remembers now- Monday, September 15. Penny wakes up in her room. Ezra lets himself in. Again. (Or: Karnak sends Penny back, to the morning of the Fall Fair, and she has to try and stop the disaster from happening.)
