Fics like Gravity

Beneath the locker room light, Jannik sits on a bench, towel over his shoulders. He’s bent forward, scrolling on his phone, and the angle makes the freckles on his face stand out more than usual — scattered across cheekbones, hidden at the bridge of his nose, faint constellations. Carlos can’t stop staring. He wonders if anyone else ever counts them, if anyone else knows how they darken under the sun. The urge rises in him, strange and sudden, to map them with a fingertip. He looks away before he does something reckless. Carlos doesn’t fall in love in one moment. He falls in all of them.
