Fics like Three of Birds

“Ancel, what…?” Berenger starts only to trail off. Ancel wonders if he looks as insane as he feels. He’s barefoot and barely dressed, the dressing gown gaping open over his bare chest. His face is unpainted and his hair is wild. Is there still a mark on his neck from the knife? Or has that faded like the moment itself has faded. His death- because he knows now, he died- there and gone, and now, inexplicably, he’s back. Back to Varenne, back to Berenger, and none of it has happened. Yet. (Or: Ancel gets stuck in a time loop)
