Fics like they say he's an inspiration

Ice may have earned his callsign for his technique in the air, but Maverick has to imagine half the students think Ice got it from his ability to dole out brutal freeze-burning remarks. Well. Leave it to the Iceman to find a way to make his callsign define him through and through. _______ From the moment they met, Mav knew Kazansky had a mouth on him. It isn't until they're both instructors at TOPGUN, though, that Mav learns just how brutal Ice can be. One thing's for sure: Maverick's never bored, teaching alongside Iceman. He's just not sure he's going to survive the job unscathed, himself.
