Fics like Little Sir, License and Registration

They were halfway down the pavement that ran along the road when a brief yowl of a siren chirped, not the full-blast wail but enough to make heads turn. TK's heart did its old lurch, instinct and memory colliding, and then the Ranger pickup eased parallel to the sidewalk, window rolling down. Carlos tipped his Stetson with a grin that reached his eyes, the badge on his chest catching the light. "Afternoon," Carlos called, playful and twinkling. "Hi, little sir. I think you're overspeeding. Can I see your license and registration, please?" Jonah gasped and then cracked into giggles. "PAPA! I'm not overspeeding!" "Oh, I think you are, sir," Carlos said, lowering his voice like a movie cop. "Your Papa-bro is chasing after you." Jonah leaned toward Carlos, cupped his hands around his mouth like a spy, and stage-whispered, "Papa-bro is just slow."
