Fics like i'd give anything to hear you say it one more time

The first night was agonizing. So was the second night. And the third, and so on. In truth, there really hasn’t been a night in the months since losing Yaz – losing that future, that chance to make amends with the person she’d loved most in the world – where she hasn’t sobbed right through her pillow, or wailed her throat into a rough, aching state, or wondered when she might fall asleep and hope not to wake up. At least that way, she’d run the chance of catching up to Yaz. She keeps all their memories close, tucked against her chest and etched into her skin so that no one can take them from her. If she could, she’d have torn the flesh from her bones and nestled it all within, wrapped up whatever remained of a heart she’d given up too much of in every instance of joy and pride and comfort they’d shared in their time together, just to make sure that something could keep it beating. After all, being with Yaz had been so much of her life; the hell is she supposed to do now that it’s gone? * Inspired by LooksLikeVespa's comic from earlier this summer - in which Sammy visits Yaz's grave and reflects on what she's lost.
