Fics like a fact of the universe

Spock is back from the dead, and McCoy still doesn't quite know how to deal with all of it, but Spock is there to talk---or maybe more like argue---and Jim is there to kiss it better, too. Everything is just as it should be. [Spock leans back, steeples his fingers, getting ready for one of their debates, exactly the same as before. It sends another aching pang through McCoy’s chest, to see the same old Spock shining through the new, but who knows how long it will stay, or if Spock even realizes he’s slipped back into habits from a time he may not remember. McCoy shakes himself, tells himself to stay focused on the here and now. How good it is to see those steepled fingers again, how it can start to soothe away the grief of thinking he would never see them again. “Vulcans have not seriously considered the concept of ghosts in thousands of years, though the Romulans still devote countless stories to such ideas, ranging from horror to romance. I am not sure what to make of it, myself; I don’t know if I ever was, even before.”]
