Fics like A Pinky Promise

At eight years old, best friends Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji made a pinky promise on a sun-drenched afternoon: if they were both still unmated by thirty, they would marry each other. Twenty-four years later, they’ve completely forgotten it exists. Wei Wuxian, 32, is a vibrant Omega, perfectly content with his life of chaos, invention, and pestering his stoic Alpha best friend. Lan Wangji, 32, is the impeccable Second Jade of Lan, who has quietly carried the torch for his sunshine-hearted friend since childhood. Their world is thrown into glorious, chaotic upheaval when the long-lost video of their childhood pact is unveiled at a family celebration, to the utter delight of their meddling, matchmaking families. Now, under the relentless pressure of the Jiang and Lan clans, they are forced to navigate a mandatory courtship. Between family schemes, misunderstood feelings, and a jealousy that sparks hotter than chili oil, they must confront the terrifying question: was that childhood promise just a silly game, or did their younger selves know a fundamental truth they are both too afraid to admit?
