Fics like Homo Homini Lupus

‘’Why am I here?’’ At that, Slade smiles, if one can call it that. More like a tilt of the mouth; another shallow cut of the knife. The shimmer of sharp, sharp steel. A promise and a threat. Pain, deep and dark and beautiful. ‘’You tell me, kid.’’ --- Written for the Apprentice Dick Week 2025 event. Days 5 + 6 + 7: Slade makes Dick genuinely laugh (snort, in this case) / Slade proudly shows off his apprentice / free day Dick joins Slade on a casino gig and things kind of spiral from there.
