Fics like you are the night

It feels like the severing of a vital organ, like a rusted blade slicing through the arteries and veins connected to your heart, hacking at it until it splits from the circulatory system pumping blood around your body. It feels like a greataxe to your ribs, smashing until the ivory of your bones have cracked into splintered shards. It feels like a great hand snatching your lungs and squeezing tight, so tight, until you cannot breathe. The Night Yorb burst forth from you in a screaming rage, voice howling across all of Spyre as it takes to the darkening skies. You hear little of what it says as the momentum of magic dwindles, causing you to crash back down. The last thing that enters your mind as you hit the concrete with a sharp thwack is the sky: an endless abyss, a veil of pure darkness only broken by the constellations woven across the sky. It’s beautiful, you think, with a lurching longing that splits open your chest. You try to reach up, trembling claws outstretched— And then you pass out. (Or: Riz Gukgak is the Night Yorb.)
