Fics like somniferum

Twelve-year-old Dan Heng can't sleep. For the past weeks, he's been having trouble falling and staying asleep. He wakes up to the smallest sounds and can't lull himself back to sleep, no matter how hard he tries. One night, he has the bright idea to sleep in his late mother's spot, right besides his stepfather, Yingxing. It's surprising how well he sleeps next to Yingxing. Instead of staring up at the ceiling, counting sheep until he grows tired, it's almost as if the exhaustion hits him immediately. Yingxing is weak to temptation, especially next to the little boy who perfectly mirrors his late wife. Previously titled: 'when the lights go dim'
