Fics like Erase the Epitaph

A post War-Games AU. Leslie Thompkins almost fakes Stephanie Brown's death, but stays true to her compassionate nature and changes her mind. Thus begins Stephanie's slow journey of healing, of recovery, of confronting her trauma and despair, and of finding out who she is in the ruins of it all. Trying to rebuild her relationships and reconnect with the people she loves. And as those loved ones face their own struggles--from sudden deaths to mysterious returns-- Stephanie being around changes things quite a bit... Updated with chapter 20! The confrontation with Bruce is here at last! Excerpt: Stephanie’s voice cracked. “Bruce, who is Matches Malone?” There it was again, his jaw tightening. His eyes flicked down to the table. “Does it matter anymore?” “Of course it matters! I know Malone was supposed to show, that the gang war happened because he wasn’t there, but I don’t know why he wasn’t. I don’t know what I should have done to find him! Please. Please tell me.” Bruce finally met her eyes, looking pained. “I’m Matches Malone. It’s an alias of mine. An undercover identity I used with criminals.” Steph felt the world collapse around her.
