But every time he saw the photo of his old team, he remembered why he couldn’t. He couldn’t let that happen to them. This system had already screwed them over. The people who were supposed to care for them had done the opposite. Kakashi wasn’t going to be another adult who let these kids down. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. And maybe I’ll only make things worse…” Kakashi murmured softly to the framed photo at his bedside. “…But I have to try.” He had to. Or these pups were as good as dead. OR: Kakashi realizes how bullshit it is that Team Seven was even a team in the first place, and does things differently. Screw Hiruzen for putting him in this position.
