Fics like Sour Apples

Despite his displeasure at having to eat another one of these god forsaken fruits, he unfortunately didn’t have much of an option. It was either that or he died from salmonella by eating the raw chicken that’s been sitting there for over a week. With a sigh, Kid grabbed the ripest looking apple from the fridge before shutting it. Examining the fruit for a moment for any bruises, he found none. Wasting no more time, he brought the apple to his mouth and began to eat it. Its taste was sour, as if the apple had been drenched in citric acid. He didn’t like the taste, not one bit, but he continued to stomach it regardless. At the very least, the fruit did its job well enough. It filled him up and distracted him from his own warring thoughts. At least now he could focus on things other than his own mental turmoil. Such as the crickets chirping outside, or the soft hum of the fridge, or the bug-eyed teenager standing outside his window… Wait what? Or: Kindergarten Kid and Nugget centric fic cause their dynamic deserves more love.
