Fics like born already missing you

Peter softens. “I’ll always know you, Harry. No matter what’s happened between us.” “That’s not it.” He bites the inside of his cheek and waits for a metallic taste to burn through him. “God, my father was wrong. I’m more like him than he thought. Greedy. I want more than I should, more than I deserve.” Confusion flits across Peter’s handsome features. “What are you…” “I want you to say I love you and mean it,” Harry whispers, “the way I do.” On his deathbed, Harry commits one last selfish and utterly evil act—a love confession. Only, he survives, Peter stays, and the two are left grasping at a daze of memories, domestic life, and the impossible question of what lies for them next.
