Everyone knows that omegas might not be banned from playing in the NHL, but they never get drafted. So when Otter presents as an omega, he kind of just…ignores it. Everyone thinks he’s a beta, and he lets them. He develops a system that works, gets drafted by the Dallas Stars, and goes about his life living his dream. Mush is an alpha who maybe takes that role more seriously than even hockey. He’s 30, unmated, and maybe a little in love with his best friend, but it’s totally fine. It’s manageable. At least it was, until Otter’s suppressants failed unexpectedly. Now a lot of the quiet parts of his life are becoming very loud. (Also includes a whole B plot featuring clueless good guy captain Jamie Benn and damaged chaos gremlin Tyler Seguin.)
