“What the—” Gavin mutters then blinks and faces the customer, schooling his features in that eerie way middle management do. “Madame? Est-ce que je peux vous aider?” Tim’s jaw slackens. Tim is not prepared to be faced with Gavin speaking fluent French. His mouth goes dry and Carole shoots him a funny look from behind her tear-streaked tissue. Sure, logically, Tim always knew Gavin could speak French but seeing it first-hand... It’s doing things to Tim’s self-control.
