Fics like HALF PAST ZERO

Jinu is at the height of his career when a scandalous photograph is shown on an old friend’s stream. Faced with controversy and no small amount of hate from the general public and a few chronically online fans at the idea that KPOP's golden boy might be queer, and that he might have once been in a relationship with famed American football player Abby, he's got no choice but to take a few steps back from being an idol. Added onto that, with the sudden onset of his mother’s health crisis, he’s forced to return to America to take care of his family. Unfortunately for him, running away from his problems has never been a long-lasting solution, and he finds out first-hand that life will always get its “get-back”. Thankfully, sometimes, that "get-back" isn't always so bad. Eventually. // “You wanted to what? To make sure that I’m giving her an adequate standard of care, because you’re worried that I resent you for leaving me and breaking my heart nine years ago?” Abby’s voice is gentle, even as he speaks so bluntly that Jinu shrinks in on himself. “I stayed close with your mom, even after you left, you know. So did all of the boys. I wouldn’t take your decisions out on her.”
