Fics like Home is Where the Hearth Is

They were just friends. Amica, yes, but they didn’t share beds. They hadn’t shared a berth, ever. Whenever they had a movie night, or played a game until far too late, Rodimus would look over at him, about to ask him to leave. Then, Drift would politely do him the favour of saying ‘It’s late. I’m going to head home for bed,’ before Rodimus needed to worry about kicking him out. It was a line Drift couldn’t see them crossing. If he shared a bed with Rodimus, he’d be too tempted with horrible urges to kiss and claim and consume. He already stifled so much feeling. He didn’t trust himself to stay away if Rodimus was that close. He was a dam ready to break any moment. A bomb just waiting for ignition.
