She was warm, soft and real against him. She was his loadstone, his anchor. She tied him down in the here and the now and he clung to her. He clung to her and reminded himself that he could not barter away his pain without giving away his love with it. Violet and Xaden take the tird watch the night the squad spends on Zenal. They reflect on the events they have faced and they dare to dream about the future. This fic is an imagening of a conversation we never see play out between Violet and Xaden, but one they definantly should have had.
