Fics like Burning Bright Blues

An exploration of growing up with a living legend for a half-brother. --- His first race was horrible. Well, it could have been worse. At least Luca finished the race. During it, though, he constantly felt like he was in last place. The next race was the same, falling back. It had been humiliating to be overtaken by his brother. Yes, he had much more experience than Luca, but he was supposed to be Vale's legacy. Luca was supposed to be younger, just as prodigal and talented. All he had proved was that race was his own inadequacy. The only highlight of his first two races was a good job and a playful slap on his shoulder given to him by Vale. He was ashamed to admit that he'd placed his own hand over the lingering warmth, trying to imagine that it was Vale's instead.
