Fics like Footprints in the sand

It's weird to look at Stelle. She's a bit strange in personality, sure, but otherwise she is a suitable image for a 'hero'. Yet when Mydei looks at her, it feels as if he is looking at something that does not belong- a spot of gold in a sea of blue, a smear of orange against a black background. It's jarring to look at. It hurts his eyes. Or: A collection of vignettes and memories; in which Mydei remembers without really remembering.
