Fics like torn asunder

You are a former CIA agent, callsign Pierce, who finds himself amongst the ranks of the infamous Task Force 141. In one of your early missions, you find yourself gravely injured and captured in the hands of the enemy, KorTac. All you want to do is go home, make it back to the 141. Little do you know, one certain KorTac operator has taken a liking to you, choosing to help you when the rest of his company wants to get rid of you for good. —— He is kind to you. For no good reason. It is in his best interest to treat you like scum, just like everyone else does. In your mind, the conversation you had with him replays. 'Why are you helping me?' 'I don't know.' For the first time since you got here, you relaxed around him. Let your guard down, let your walls crumble as you pointed out constellations under the night sky. You haven't felt like that in ages—maybe not even since before you joined the Task Force. You find yourself asking yourself a similar question to the one you asked König. 'Why do I trust you?' 'I don't know, either.'
