Fics like Love After Loss

After losing years of her life to being trapped in the form of Kuro Neko, a brave hero—… a greedy jewellery thief named Wario mistakenly rescues Princess Shokora of the temples, freeing her from the confinements of being a small, black cat. However, Shokora, now homeless due to the loss of her temples, doesn’t rest in peace, and instead… survives. This leaves her stranded, but Wario, having formed a close bond with her over the years, uncharacteristically so decides not to leave her alone, and instead allows her to live with both him and his brother, Waluigi—with the hopes when she gets her fortune back, a generous helping will go to him for such a charitable act! However, Shokora can’t help but view Wario as her hero, and quickly begins to form romantic feelings for him; though she fears how Wario would react if he were to find out… completely unaware that, beneath the fat and muscle, he’s actually far softer than he lets on, and he himself has had feelings hidden deep for the princess, ones he could never let her in on.
