Fics like Burning the Candle at Both Ends and Calling it Progress

When a certain, quiet, SAS Sergeant starts growing restless of his constant background personality, he makes an attempt to be noticed by his team. However, as his efforts continue, they have the opposite affect and he ends up hurting himself instead of healing. When his Lieutenant finally stumbles into the realization of his dire situation, he's determined to help him. With the promises of no psychologic evaluation, and suprisingly soft words, the Sergeant learns to stop overexerting himself for the sake of recognition. Instead, he learns to value the company of his superior, and finds he feels much better.
