NCIS Agent Tony DiNozzo unexpectedly becomes the sole guardian of his 12-year-old daughter, Rory, after the death of her mother, Lorelai Gilmore. He’s forced to balance the loss of his best friend, the pressure of leading a new NCIS team under Director Vance, and a steep learning curve in how to raise a child, all while helping Rory to navigate her own grief. Tony has kept Rory’s existence a secret for her own protection, but that all falls apart as new challenges appear, new allies emerge, and they build a new normal as a family one day at a time. As Rory struggles to find her footing in Washington D.C., haunted by nightmares and loneliness, Tony must redefine what family, loyalty, and leadership mean. Tony seeks an unconventional solution to returning a sense of control to his daughter: female empowering self-defense lessons. What he couldn't have expected Rory to find through those lessons was a fast friendship with President Bartlet’s daughter, Zoey, which proves to be a blessing and a complication all at once. Grounded, emotional, and full of heart, three fandoms are blended together in a story of grief, resilience, quiet romance, and the power of found family.
