Fics like underneath the bridge (tarp has sprung a leak)

The Batman had disappeared back into shadow, only a supposed spectre seen by those who would've drowned -- Bruce Wayne steps into the light. The Superman runs himself in circles around Metropolis, and not a single person goes without his help -- Clark Kent stares into the void and offers it a friendly hand. (Lois thinks Clark should get more superhero friends that can keep a secret *and* stick up for him at the same time. She points him towards Gotham's most reclusive urban legend, and someone wants Bruce Wayne dead. Superman takes the case, with Batman as reluctant supervision.)
