Fics like Plucked From the Skies for Me

“Khaslana, my dearest child, my finest creation.” The divine voice echoing around him, splitting from one to hundred to a thousand – more distorted and unintelligible with each split. “̶…̴y̶o̵u̶…̵d̷e̷s̴t̷r̵o̴y̶ ̷t̵h̵e̵m̸…̸f̴o̸r̵ ̶m̴e̷?̷”̷ Words entering his ears and splintering into countless, repeating ones. ‘If your heart cries not for your brethren up in the skies, but the dusts that cover the earth below, what need do you have for those wings?’ The sunfire tears through his back with its golden-white blaze. And Phainon falls from the heavens. Angels hadn't descended upon the lands of Amphoreus for years, though vestiges of their divine guidance persisted. And all Mydei wanted was to live out his quiet life in his quaint cottage in the woods with his animals. Far away from the angels and their business. Until one crashed into his backyard.
