Fics like Don't Make This a Thing

Early fall semester. Rumi has just transferred into the university’s prestigious performing arts program. She’s rooming with Mira and Zoey, her two new dorm-mates. Both chill, fun, a little nosy, and super invested in her drama. Friends since freshman year. Rumi runs into Jinu during classes. He’s clearly talented, but cold, aloof, and confident to the point of arrogance. He gives her a subtle once-over, almost breaks her laptop, and then walks off with that infuriating smirk. He doesn’t even remember her name, but at a party, after too many drinks and a heated argument, Rumi and Jinu kiss. Maybe more. They pretend it never happened… until it happens again. As they keep hooking up, they start to unravel each other’s layers. They start caring. And it terrifies them both. Both enter into a no-strings-attached FWB situation after a drunken night where they both admit they're too busy or burned by past relationships to date seriously. They lay down ground rules: No sleepovers. No public displays. No jealousy. No catching feelings.
