Fics like You're Only Human, Master Jinshi

"For you, I will remove every obstacle that keeps us apart. One day. Just know that. I won't let what you fear come to pass. I swear it." Jinshi was in serious trouble now. With the Emperor’s children continuing to grow sick and die, he’s not sure where to go from here. The doctors were at a complete loss, and it seems that the chains of his future tighten with each passing day. At least until a young apothecary girl with sharp blue eyes, a splattering of freckles, and was as blunt as a hammer comes into his life. Despite having everything handed to him on a silver platter, Jinshi had lived a lonely and dull life where he learned to hide his true face behind a façade he presents to the court… until he meets Maomao. For the first time, someone sees past his mask to his true self and she fills his world with color. Jinshi's feelings for Maomao evolve from initial curiosity and amusement to deep affection and romantic interest until he realized he cannot live without her. This is going to be a retelling of the Apothecary Diaries only they’re told from Jinshi's POV, based on both the anime and light novels. (Season 1-2 of the anime, Light Novels 1-4)
