Fics like table for eight

As chaotic as it is — and it is, especially on closing shifts, with a mostly packed reservation list and the knowledge that all of them will end up sweating, and exhausted, with slightly swollen ankles and rumbling bellies — Chan will always be grateful for every single one of them. It feels cheesy to think of them as family, but it’s as genuine a word as he can think of. They bicker like family, tease like family, and support each other like family, and without it, none of it would work. But it does work, enough that his staff dutifully collect themselves together in the dining room for a totally impromptu meeting just before a packed-out Thursday night shift, just because they know it helps alleviate his stress levels. The restaurant AU we didn't know we needed.
