Fics like forget-me-not

Shu falters at the touch. He didn’t expect him to give up, Valt never did, but he didn’t expect him to chase after him. Shu murmurs, “Let go, Valt.” “I could never do that,” Valt whispers instead, although his voice is more wobbly and quieter than usual. Shu looks up, and— Valt is crying. Shu could’ve sworn the sunset was over, but when he looks at Valt, the Sun is still there—and behind him, it shines a little brighter. Through blue forget-me-not petals and forgiveness, Shu Kurenai falls in love with his best friend. Or: Shu develops the Hanahaki disease. Valt just wants him to get the surgery.
