Fics like Forbidden Fruit

~ Friends with benefits AU - Modern Setting ~ Clarke Griffin knows better than to fall for her best friend’s older brother, especially when he’s always been the exception to her better judgment. But when a midnight emergency ends with Bellamy Blake bleeding in her bathroom, one reckless kiss sets off a shift they can’t come back from. He’s a detective chasing shadows in the city’s drug crisis. She’s a medical resident barely keeping her head above water. They’ve always been close, but this? This is something else. Something forbidden. What starts as a messy, slow-burning friends-with-benefits situation quickly spirals into something a lot harder to define, and even harder to undo. Set against the backdrop of cozy apartments, group dinners, hospital hallways, and the kind of quiet grief that sneaks up on you. This is a revised and expanded version of a fic I wrote originally published in 2015. It’s been completely restructured for plot, tone, and pacing. If you're new: welcome. If you’ve read the original, this is the version I meant to write. Happy Reading. Fair warning: this fic gets pretty whump-heavy. Mind the tags.
