He doesn’t, of course, but he wants to, and Samira seems to know what he’s thinking because she shakes her head, half-grinning. “About me?” He asks. “About house hunting,” Samira clarifies. “And your total aversion to fixer-uppers.” “You can buy houses that are already fixed up,” Jack says. He is a grown man. He makes a good salary as an attending physician. Jack is not interested in being his own contractor. He’s not in Ortho.
