Fics like Before the Heroes

In a world where cruelty creates justice and justice inspires cruelty, Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive Spider long before heroes were invented. With Captain America thought to be dead, Spider-Man comes decades later as the first public phenomenon with only one idea in mind, to save the people. Or “There was an idea to see if we can group together a band of extraordinary individuals, an initiative, if you will, to see if they can become something more. To join together to fight the battles that we can’t, a safe place where we can rely on them when we needed to.” Peter paused on fiddling with the now soggy straw in the empty milkshake cup and stared at Fury straight in the eye, “So what you’re saying is, you want me to join a currently non existent superhero team to fight off these, also very non existent, threats? “…those are the basics.”
