Fics like Stand By Me

“You know Eddie Diaz? The kid who went missing?” Ravi asked. Of course they had all heard about Eddie Diaz. He was about their age and went for a walk in the woods to never come back. That was about a week ago. He knew if his parents paid enough attention, they wouldn’t like that he and his friends hung out in the woods all the time after something like that. “What about Eddie?” Tommy asked. “Well, they were talking, right? My brother and Chimney. They had gone out to smoke some pot out at the end of willow bark road. Said they found his body- that he was hit by a train out there.” “Why didn’t they report it?” Buck asked. “Because they didn’t want to be caught with the pot!” Ravi said, “They thought about putting in an anonymous tip, but didn’t want it traced back to them.” “So what are you thinking?” Sal asked. “Wanna go see a body?” Ravi asked, “You could tell your parents you’re staying at mine and I can say I’m staying with one of you. It will give us plenty of time to go out, find it, and then we get the credit as the heroes. We’ll even get the reward money!”
