Fics like Smoke and Fire

After winning the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta have to deal with the trauma from the tortures they went through during the Games. While they're trying to figure out what to do about their relationship, the 75th Games, the third Quarter Quell, are announced. This time - Katniss is sure - President Snow decided to change up the rules to punish her: Each district must draw the names of the participants from the pool of already existing victors. Katniss knows that she is one of them since she is the only woman from District 12 who has ever won the Games. But this time it isn't Peeta who will join her in the arena. It's her mentor Haymitch who won the second Quarter Quell 25 years ago. Disclaimers: 1. I do not own the rights to any of the Hunger Games characters that are also mentioned in the original works. 2. Any differences towards the backstories/circumstances of the original works aren't plot holes, they are intentional. 3. This story contains mild Sunrise on the Reaping spoilers, so if you don't want any information on SOTR whatsoever, I wouldn't recommend reading my story. (Also, guys, quick side note: English isn't my first language, so please excuse any grammatical mistakes 😖)
