Fics like Starts to burn, starts to rot

Growing up, Hyuntak had a father who never really liked talking about the past. But one night, when Hyuntak was around nine and Mum had already slept, Dad pulled out a crumpled envelope with pressed flowers. He didn’t explain where it came from. Just handed it over and said, “These are from a few months ago. They are called blue asters.” A flower that symbolised loyalty, devotion, and a quiet, enduring love that often borne out of friendships. The exact kind of love Hyuntak felt for Baku, had been since they were little kids. Hyuntak had asked Dad why it mattered. Why keep flowers, why remember them? “Because I couldn’t say what I felt back then,” Dad had muttered, voice low. “Never told him that I still feel the same. And now he died not knowing.”
