Fics like What If I told you?

Pom isn't like anyone else. She is some unknown creature from some unknown part of space, and she is sick of being a test subject. As a mimic, of sorts, she manages (through the power of an HR rep not doing their job) to join the Rescue Corps and gets sent out to an unexplored planet. Can she figure out her job and how to be a person for long enough to avoid suspicion? Or will she have to run away again?
