Cloud is the unluckiest of mer. Cursed with bright gold scales that make it hard for him to sneak up on prey, he is shunned by other mer, who refuse to let him join their hunting parties. Cloud is forced to fend for himself in the wide lonely ocean. One day, he catches a glimpse of bright silver. Could there be another like him?
