Fics like Deserter
Davebot actually returns for a brief moment to go and retrieve some items he left behind in that underground base that the Troll resistance used. Instead of just using his powers to go directly back in time to that exact moment, he decides he’ll just take the scenic route instead and use the Elevator since he’s pretty sure nobody is supposed to be on the base that day. Unfortunately for him, the last person he wants to see is on the base that day. or Dave and Karkat get trapped in an elevator for a small amount of time to have a talk.
