Fics like ringed about with fantasy

That he who has slaughtered whole armies and fed Ulster’s soil with invader’s blood should still be haunted by one death among countless others is beyond belief. He says as much to his wife, and her sad smile and soft murmur sets a stinging behind his eyes that he cannot blink away. “You know why it is so.” It has been years since the war, and the Hound of Ulster still mourns the champion of Connacht. Láeg and Emer are there beside him through it all.
