Fics like totally fine

John had been shot before—when you’d seen as many combat scenarios as he had, you were bound to catch a stray bullet at least once. But the more he glanced down, trying to stay together in front of all these eyes, the more he realized he hadn’t just been clipped. No, he was lucky if this missed something vital. He needed to get back to the Tower. He could deal with it there—and nobody would have to know he’d been brought down by one bullet. * * * Closely following their public debut, the Thunderbolts find themselves—in the absence of any aliens, robots, or wizards—taking on some very violent individuals with guns and itchy trigger fingers. John Walker gets badly injured—healing is a vulnerable thing that he makes easy for nobody, not even himself.
