Fics like We Hug Now (or even just Still Best Friends)
“The world ended when it happened to me.” Haruka Kiritani and Minori Hanasato were once each other’s everything—two rising idols in love, quietly, sweetly, and secretly. But fear won. Haruka, terrified of scandal and career ruin, ended it before it could ever bloom in the light. Minori had begged her to stay. Haruka let go. Years pass. The two remain bandmates, professionals. Friends, even. Until one night, Minori shares news that shatters the fragile calm Haruka built for herself: “I’m getting married.” To someone else. As celebration and heartbreak collide, Haruka is forced to confront the depth of what she lost—the warmth she let slip through her fingers, the love she buried beneath ambition. It's too late to take it back. Too late to fix what was once broken gently. Told in quiet moments and loud silences, We Hug Now is a bittersweet story of what it means to love too much, lose it anyway, and live with the echo of it forever. A story of first love, final goodbyes, and the quiet strength of moving forward—alone.
