Fics like Everyone I Know Goes Away In The End

Gibbs is in the depths of despair at the death of his wife and daughter, mostly busy keeping himself as drunk as he can possibly be for as many hours of the day that he can. He's living in an apartment in Baltimore when a fire breaks out in the building. Even though he was ready to do it, he is unable to just let the fire consume him and put an end to his misery when a certain bright-eyed college varsity basketball player refuses to leave him in the burning building. NOTE: This is an AU of pre-canon where Tony saves Gibbs from being killed in the apartment fire in Baltimore. There's some elements of NCIS Origins but it's mostly all made up.
