Fics like When the Skies Opened Up and all the Stars Fell into the Lake

Fresh starts can be found in all kinds of places, even in the rain and the cold. *** That’s the exact moment it hits him: the sensation of magic so fierce it might leave scorch marks on the things it touches. He opens his eyes, sees the figure that has been flying in the stormy sky above now sinking down in slow, languid circles. Their cloak waves behind them like a flag or a warning. He sits up, his back pressing into the rain-soaked seat. He thinks he recognizes that broom. A firebolt. And there’s only one person in the whole castle who’s known of possessing such. Right now, his magic feels like a violent shade of dark blue. You would think blue as a colour is full of sadness, but there is nothing sad about Harry Potter's blue magic. It’s burning with rage.
