Fics like dispel, disown yourself

“What just happened?” Gorgug speaks up, looking up at Fabian with wide, concerned eyes. “Are you alright?” Fabian hesitates. It's not the first of the mysterious wounds he'd sustained — but he’d filed the situation under coincidences, to be brought back up at a later moment. Now, though, with more phantom injuries appearing, it feels like a more pressing issue than he’d initially thought, and he wrings his hands as he contemplates how to bring it up. Right as he opens his mouth, though, he flinches as a pressure forms around his wrist, a deep blue bruise blossoming up right before his eye. He looks up to meet Riz’s eyes, looking just as startled as he feels. “I think I might be cursed,” he says slowly, letting his hand fall back to the table and looking up at Kristen gravely. There’s a sinking feeling that he might be understating things, and he purses his lips uncomfortably as he looks around the table as a silence descends. - Okay, look — Fabian's no expert, but he's fairly sure that old injuries aren't supposed to magically reappear. There's only one explanation — he's cursed. Now what?
