Fics like Book One: The Former Friend, Rabastan Lestrange

Sirius didn't want to be Sorted into Gryffindor. He was heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, destined to uphold the supremacy of pureblooded wizardkind. Gryffindor was a teeming embarrassment of Mudbloods and blood-traitors. But he makes the best of his situation--and in doing so, makes new friends who lead him to question everything he was taught to believe. This is the first work of an expected canon-compliant series following Sirius's life from age 11 to the end, mostly from Sirius's POV. Updates biweekly on Thursdays. Gratitude and credit to WingFeathers, missrizu, and my writers' group for the brainstorming, collaboration, and beta-reading! Disclaimer: I do not support and am disgusted with JKR's transphobic views and activism. In this work, Wizarding society carries deep prejudices on blood purity, but is and has always been trans-, queer-, racially, and ethnically inclusive.
